In an effort to invite and encourage new education bloggers to join in the conversations, I have been composing several posts on: What Blogging Is? How to Read A Blog? How to Write or Comment on a Blog? and it dawned on me. I had failed to answer the most critical questions of all:
- Why should we blog?
- What is the benefit?
After all, we lead busy lives, isn’t this blogging stuff just another thing to do?
The answer is simple: CONNECTIONS
A fellow blogger, Vicki Davis, explains the power of connections in this way:
During the most stressful period of teaching probably in the history of mankind, we have been given a gift — a gift of connections with one another. No teacher is an island — we are a growing continent of hope in an education system lost in the last century…
It is the humble and willing TEACHER who can encourage others to move ahead into this new world at their own pace and their own comfort level and who never says "I told you so" but only says, "Yes! I’m so proud of you! You can do it!"
Teacher — remember why you teach! Let that love of teaching spur you to become better and venture unafraid into what has turned out to be, for me, a very good place — the edublogosphere.
Whether you are just beginning the conversation or you are a seasoned blogger, I want to hear your voice. Our voices matter. Together, we are better!
