I was recently asked to give a presentation revealing the research behind successful teaching practices. In "acadameditian speak"-I was prepared, powerpoint and all, to describe the scientific base that defines successful teaching. Yet, only one word came out: SIMPLEXITY.
That is what successful teachers do. Successful teachers have an amazing ability to find the simple in the complex, and reveal that to their students. In this way, they make the complex manageable knowing that ultimately, it is the simple that builds confidence and breeds competence. It is the simple that sticks. It is the simple that endures.
When we teach with and for SIMPLEXITY, we help our learners find their own way to thrive and survive in a world filled with complexity.
So, here is a Thought for Thursday: How can/do the principles of SIMPLEXITY help you find your way through the complex?
