Friends, meet Annie Viertz (yes, that's me!!)!
I am now officially a member of Second Life. Now, I must admit that when I first heard about the phenomenon of Second Life, my first thought was this:
I can not even handle my first life, why in the heck would I take on another one. What would be the point??
The moment that came out of my mouth, I recognized the same sentiment exists with any new environment, tool, or experience. Why would I Twitter? Why would I blog? Why would I need to learn that e-mail thing…I like licking stamps!!! Sound familiar?
I am not that learner! I knew then that I needed to experience this with an open mind and 21st Century learner attitude. And as long as my avatar could have cute shoes, I knew I would be okay! (Oh, just wait until you see Annie's shoe closet!)
Thanks to the amazing Peggy Sheehy, I am now very proud to announce my upcoming presentation on on ISTE Eduverse Talks, a production of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and Treet.tv. Filmed and broadcast from Second Life. The series highlights innovations in educational technology, in both real life and Second Life.
