Questions in the Queue for Adolescent Literacy Panel
I'm hoping to see and hear from teachers during tonight's Time to Act Panel discussion with the team from The Carnegie Corporation of New York and the members from the TIme to Act Adolescent Literacy Panel.
For those not able to make the event (4PM ET, 8PM GMT), some have used the ASK ANGELA section to send questions in so their voice can be heard. Here are some of those questions:
- What role do you see career and technical education programs playing in efforts to address adolescent literacy?
- How do you see the school library program and teacher librarian being involved in TTA, particularly reading for the disciplines? Library resources are mentioned in the report but not librarians.
- The title of your report is "Time to Act: An Agenda for Advancing Adolescent Literacy for College and Career Success." Understanding that almost all students will need some form of postsecondary education, do you see differences in the literacy needs of individuals based on the career paths they take or the time that they choose to leave school to enter the workforce?
- What is the federal and state role with respect to literacy outside of the core academic classroom?
LearnCentral is the platform host for this event. I'm excited to use this Elluminate-sponsored learning space. Join us for both a great discussion and to experience a fantastic online learning environment
