'Tis the season of holiday celebration
and as I reflect upon this past year
I want to take a moment to tell you
of the learning and lives I hold so dear
To friends old, new and not yet met
Online, offline, and either near and far
I'm hard-pressed to find the words
To express how dear to me you all are
As I ask questions upon Twitter-ville
or in my RSS, your posts I do read
Watch your videos, listen to podcasts
Every single one of you help me to succeed
Both in my professional and personal life
I'm in awe and in a constant state of WOW
Your passions and habitudes drive me to be better
And from you, I am always Learning Now.
Whether I'm simply doing research
Or better yet, if we meet face-to-face
You've opened up a new world to me
And now the world is a smaller place
Together, we can sooo do this
We make each other smarter
And sometimes though unbelievable
It's not about working harder
So from this humble learner/teacher
From one of Iowa's smaller parts
It is my season's desire for you
That love and learning fill your hearts
