While 2008 was my first full year in engaging the online conversation space, in 2009 I was able to experience the next step.
I've had the opportunity to work with education and business leaders, both face-to-face and via various digital connections, from all around the globe this past year. I've grown and learned sooo much from every conversation.
Here is the draft of a manifesto I'm working on for 2010 (an extension of my mantra, shared in an earlier post)
Put Learners and Learning First. They are Already Ready
Ensure excellence in learning by ensuring excellence in teaching.
Smart teachers will produce smart kids. Teacher expertise matters
Foster a learning environment to produce critical thinkers
Create a bridge between the language and practice gaps of business and education
Passion is WOW. Always be in WOW mode.
Comprehension is Not a Commodity
Promote and evangelize professional development processes geared towards developing a 21st century learning environment and critical thinking.
Say These Two Words Often: I Notice
Pattern Seeking and Meaning Making trump Content Delivery
What am I LEARNING NOWl?
Sharing What You Know Matters. Together We're Smarter
Hear it and Hold it Don't Work (Here) Anymore
Give the gift of Greater Than Yourself
It's a work in progress to end this year and catapult my own work (and our conversations) to a higher plane in 2010. I would love to hear your additions and opinions.
