Chalk Talk – 01/22/10

ChalktalkChalk Talk Friday represents conversations and brilliance I've discovered traversing my way through the Blogosphere.  From professional to personal development, these are the posts and links have in some way touched my head or my heart.

  • Ad Decoder can be a great way to teach students smarter information consumption and how to recognize authenticity in advertising. Probably a great learning tool for adults too!
  • A new partnership between DeepDive and CituLike will make for an easy and affordable way to research scholarly journals. Put these two together with my use of yolink, and my research skills and time become even stronger.
  • Swype: This handy mobile app will make typing and texting so much easier. Start with your finger on the first letter of a word, end with the last, and Swype determines the word or choice of words quickly. Imagine being able to text or type "engagement" with only two touches! It's not to replace keyboarding skills, but for mobile application? Nice!
  • Scott McLeod shares how several education leaders are using online video to communicate with their teams and their community. Some great examples!
  • In 25 Ways to Reboot Brainpower and Add Innovation, Dr. Ellen Weber offers excellent applications and facts supporting them. Great stuff!

Thanks for learning with me!
