I'm on Twitter – Now What? ASCD 2010 Presentation

Here's the deck from yesterday's ASCD 2010 presentation, I'm on Twitter, Now What?

The acronym I use for Twitter is simple and, for me, used as a compass for why I use Twitter:

Tribe
Wisdom
Individual
Trust
Transparency
Engagement
Relationships

I've learned so much from my friends, colleagues, and mentors in this space. I'm grateful to be part of the conversation — and even more grateful for those who have embraced me into their community.

Many thanks to my friend and business partner, Jocelyn Wallace, for helping me put together the presentation.

Is it ok to use some of your slides? Is there a way to hear what you said as well? Looks like it was a great presentation..

It wasn’t until even 3 weeks ago that I started following a TON more people on Twitter, they reciprocated, and my PLN multiplied! I am constantly sharing, collaborating, getting ideas, reading, and learning…even moreso than within my grad class. I definitely have my new thing learned in the past 24 hours to share with my students everyday, which is what I expect of them. Twitter has introduced me to a whole new world of education that I didn’t even know existed!

Angela, this is a great presentation. I really like the slideshow and the direction you took with this. I just presented last week on PLN’s and Twitter and I think I should have done things differently. After reflecting on what I did, your information confirms some of my thoughts. I put together a wiki with the information, but should have used a slideshow of some sort to keep things in line. I felt like I had good information, but it wasn’t as organized as it should have been. Your presentation slideshow is fantastic. Thank you for sharing.

    Chad-

I am constantly changing my presentation for just that reason. It shows you are learning and growing and as the tools evolve so should our thinking about them. I would love to see what you did and how you see this perspective fitting in.

Twitter has become such a microcosm of the evolution and revolution occurring with the web, and mirrors the community and human qualities of Web 3.0. It has been fascinating to study and to experience in real time.

Don’t forget to share your wiki- would love to see where you took the conversation!
