Every once in awhile, I'll click through the Education category on Slideshare just to see what others are doing and saying. Today, I stumbled onto this eye-pleasing and thought-provoking deck on Blended Learning from the Upside Learning team:
At first, the design is where my attention was drawn. Then, the midsection and the talk of active learning had me nodding in agreement. About two-thirds through though — that's what really caught my attention.
Our once well-designed classroom preparing students for a factory-heavy workforce worked in previous generations served the purpose back then. And though some changes are being made to such poorly designed learning labs, the "blended learning" style is already being implemented in Higher Education — and more importantly, in Corporate America.
Are you implementing the basic principles of "blended learning" in your classrooms? If so, what are the advantages and success you've experienced? If not, why not?
