Chalk Talk- 5/15/10

ChalktalkChalk Talk Friday represents conversations and brilliance I've discovered traversing my way through the Blogosphere.  From professional to personal development, these are the posts and links have in some way touched my head or my heart.

  • VocabSushi is a free vocabulary-preparation tool that takes vocabulary study beyond word memorization. VocabSushi delivers  the content in manageable/contextual portions and has a built in progress monitoring component. Check it out.
  • Google just announced that it will now make it's once "invite-only" voicemail transcription service,  Google Voice, available to all students. It's fee and easy to sign up for with a valid .edu email address.
  • You know Twitter is my number one source for information and resources. Searching Twitter just got easier with a new change to its search service:  search.twitter.com. Adding elements of both the tweet and the corresponding URL – you can discover additional keywords to aid in your search process.
  • Dubbed the “Academy of You,”Udemy.com gives you access to hundreds of free courses online AND (this is a big "and") allows you to build your own free courses in a matter of minutes.  Very, very cool! Educators can access content and create their own virtual classroom.
