    Hi Angela,

    Excellent!

Life follows our self talk. Simple. We choose the internal dialog, reject any ideas not conforming to the highest vision of self, and we become quite spectacular, really. Believe you matter. You do. Tell people they matter. People like it ;) Why? Each person wants to make a positive impress on the world. It’s each person’s divine heritage. We are God germs, geniuses. We need only believe how much we matter, and believe in the highest vision of ourselves to be beyond spectacular.

Thanks for sharing your insight Angela, you do matter!

Awesome – I love the part in the classroom with the children!

Angela … what an important message! For everyone, but it does really start with children believing that they do indeed matter and have much to offer. Well done!

    Well said my friend!

Thank you Lois. That means the world coming from you! When children know we believe this; they can achieve almost anything! It is a miracle to watch!

    Hi Ryan!
Thank you so much for reminding us how important our self talk is. Our internal dialog can lift us up or paralyze us with fear or apathy. We chose our words wisely with others; we need to do the same with ourselves. Thank you for the reminder!

Angela,  My students and I watched your TED talk today.  Thanks to you, I saw students sit a little higher in their seats today.  I saw faces and heard voices that I have not heard all year.  Thank you for delivering the message that we all matter and that we all have contributions to make.   I agree so much with you.  We are created for significance.  I have students in my classroom who needed to hear that.  I needed to hear that.  God bless you for the work you are doing.

I had my students write on every paper they turned in – “I am a Born Winner!” I have had students from more than 20 years ago that still remember this. I had lunch one day with a former student and she pulled this statement out of her wallet and told me that it helped her get through tough times in her life including a bad divorce. Another boy with emotional disabilities turned his life around (he was told he was a juvenile delinquent and wouldn’t be anything) to becoming a minister of a church. Telling people they matter can really make a difference.

    Pat,
This is such a beautiful illustration of the power of telling students they matter!  It is such a simple and easy thing to do, and the results produce amazing things inside and out! Thank you so much for sharing this important reminder with us! #youmatter my friend!

Simple message with huge ramifications. Taking the time to communicate that a child matters, or an adult, will pay off exponentially.

A pleasure to be in your Triberr circle.  Thank you again for spending time with me at Idea Girl media fan page yesterday!! :)

I saw a man walking on the sidewalk yesterday and his eyes were down and his hood was pulled over his head like a shield to protect himself. I made a quick judgement that he wanted privacy. But when he looked up, for a split second our eyes connected, and I smiled. I realized that he was the same as me, possibly nursing wounds, feeling vulnerable. It just felt so good to try to connect instead of ignore him and treat him like he was invisible. It made a difference to me. Little things always do.
    I LOVE THIS IDEA!
